October 16, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to welcome SC del Sol as a new member.

Based in Phoenix, AZ, SC del Sol began UPSL play with the 2020 Fall Season as part of the Southwest Conference Arizona Division. The club hosts its UPSL home games at Reach 11 Sports Complex (2425 E. Deer Valley Dr., Phoenix, AZ 85050).

UPSL Arizona Division Manager Mike Miller said, "We are thrilled to add SC del Sol to the Arizona Division. The club has a lot of history and diversity on the youth side, and they're a perfect fit for the growth of the UPSL in Arizona. We wish them success as the season continues."

Tony Colavecchia is Head Coach of SC del Sol. Colavecchia is the former longtime head coach of the men's soccer team at University of Louisville (NCAA). He currently coaches two youth teams for SC del Sol, one of the oldest soccer organizations in Arizona.

"There are so many players not able to play because of COVID-19. Here at SC del Sol we had all these kids that had scholarships but weren't going to be playing so we decided that we have to have something for our players. The UPSL is a strong competition that has other teams playing in Arizona because players weren't going to be having seasons at school," Colavecchia said. "I'm excited to be a part of it and I'm excited that we get to play these teams. If the UPSL didn't exist these boys wouldn't be playing."
